Pediatric Language Milestones
Language can be broken down into two parts: expressive and receptive. Expressive language is your child’s ability to let you know what they need, want, dislike, enjoy, and how they feel. Receptive language is your child’s ability to understand language being spoken to them. Both expressive and receptive language are very important to your child’s ability to functionally communicate with those around them. Take a look at some common milestones that we look for in our evaluations based on your child’s age.
